German Army Wehrpass Gefreiter Friedrich Westfield Inf.Rgt.355 (214 ID)

Original German Army Wehrpass issued to Gefreiter Friedrich Westfeld born 23.03.1899. Westfeld served late in WW1 and would rejoin the army from August 1939 serving with Infantry Regiment 355 subordinate to the 214th Infantry Division. This unit operated during the French Sarre offensive against the 3rd French Army. The division would later be posted to Norway, however he was transferred to J.R.630 operating under the 556 Infantry Division. This division was built of mostly older men like Westfeld and served as border guards and general garrison duty around the Belfort area of France during the Phony War. Westfeld was awarded the Iron Cross second class.
